Twenty-three-year-old lightweight prospect Bubba Jenkins (1-0), a former NCAA Division I national wrestling champion, returns to action on March 9.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today learned that Jenkins will meet Millennia MMA product Chris Gomez (2-3) on March 9 at Tachi Palace Fights 12.

Additionally, Dave Huckaba (16-4) meets Liron Wilson (9-5) in a heavyweight matchup.

“TPF 12: Second Coming” takes place at Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif.

The card is expected to stream online.

Jenkins, who won this past year’s NCAA title at 157 pounds, concluded a career at Penn State and Arizona State with a 94-24 record, including a 21-3 mark in his championship 2010-2011 season. Even before downing then-undefeated (38-0) David Taylor in the championship match back in March, Jenkins announced his intentions of moving into MMA.

Jenkins made his pro debut this past December, earning a first-round submission over Josh Williams.

Meanwhile, Gomez fights for the first time under the Tachi Palace Fights banner. Gomez made his professional debut in 2008, and his two career wins have each come via submission.

Huckaba boasts a five-fight win streak that dates back to March 2010. He was expected to face Bobby Lashley at this past November’s Shark Fights 21 event. However, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation denied him a license due to an undisclosed issue with his medicals.

Wilson looks to bounce back from a Bellator 52 loss to Justin Frazier. The result snapped a four-fight win streak for the 39-year-old Californian, who has been fighting professionally since 2007.
